Liveaboard - Tioman

Dive Briefing!

Marine Park.

Back from Tioman Island!

We did a liveaboard this time round. The comfort of diving - eat, sleep and dive then eat, sleep and dive then eat, sleep and dive and the cycle goes on. hahaha..

I love liveaboards! There's no hassle of walking back to the resort from the jetty (it is really a longgggg walk back especially when you did not get enough sleep the previous night from travelling!! *growl*) and rigging and un-rigging (ok, we had a dispute the other time, so is it un-rig or de-rig? my stand is still un-rig) your equipment.

A tired Boonze... hahaha..

Divers finning back to the boat.

Food was really good onboard, no 10 course dinner.. We had an 8-course one though.. :) The crews are ever friendly and helpful. Most importantly, we were all well-fed! Plates and plates of watermelon were served to us immediately when we surfaced. Deeplly fried golden brown donuts with icing sugar for tea.. ohhhh.. i'm hungry now...! Oh no, we're spoilt rottenly.. hahaha..

Hahaha.. see! I told you the food was good! See the happy faces? haha.. ;)

This time round there was no shooting stars as the sky was really cloudy and gloomy on both nights. :( I remembered we saw a really big and bright shooting star on our boat ride to Tinggi the other time! Right Aundre and Shi Jia?! That was my first time seeing shooting star! (ok, i'm a mountain tortoise. :/)

Although we did not have a big crowd like we did for the Tinggi trip, it was still fun over all. Oh, that was when I watched the Umizaru series, Kelvin.. See what you missed out! You missed it cause you were busy at the star deck..hmmm.. I wonder what you were busy with.. =X

Oh, not forgetting! Our dear Mr Kelvin Ngian led a dive at Renggis!!! That was his first time leading a dive right?! ;) Ok, so I remember that Hon Hon, Rouan, Yu Perng and I were led by you for this dive. I remember seeing a blue-spotted ray here! Oh, and some jellyfishes and almost stung my face! I was busy purging them away with my octupus. hahaha..

Alritey, that's all folks! More update next time round! ;)

Tinggi Trip!

Hi guys!

back from Pulau Tinggi! It's the first trip our batch of committe organise since we took over!

Anyway, it was a pretty good turn out! We had 16 people - 10 OW, 4 ADv and 2 Leisure! (all excluding comm members!) Well done!

the jetty where we hop on to our dive and speed boats!

ok,some brief updates.
The resort was great! haha.. it's the best landbase resort that i've stayed before! (then again, the trips I've done are mostly LOB.. so... haha) The bed is just nice, not too hard, not too soft.. The air-con is cold and the toilet! omg.. we have to talk about the toilet! Other than the lizard scare, the toilet is perfect! warm showers and in-prefect-condition flushing and tap system! haha..

Ok, now about the dive trip itself. Visibility was pretty bad throughout the entire trip..which was quite saddening.. :( the most memorable dive for me was our frist check-out dive. It was at Siberah Besar. The dive site was so shallow that we were practically snorkelling with our tanks most of the time. Ok, partly because we lost our dive leader, so most of the time we were just 'snorkelling' near the boat.. hahaha..The dive site had a sandy bottom and we had fun trying to look out for dugongs! haha.. Of course, we did not find any. :P

(clockwise direction: 1. Dive Briefing, 2. Divers sun tanning, 3. soaking in the pool during surface interval.)

We had some hiccups during the trip too. It was some public holiday when we went, so most of the boatmen were actually on holiday. Therefore, we only had 1 diveboat. Thus, the leisure divers had to hop on to some speedboats that would bring us to our dive sites. Luckily all the leisure divers were advance and above, so we did backward roll into the water! It was fun diving in backward roll but definitely not very fun when getting back into the speedboat! We had so much trouble getting back into the speedboat! It was as if the speedboat was going to capsize any moment when we were climbing back to the speedboat!

1 lesson learnt: always bring motion sickness pills when you go diving. hahaha.. we had a couple of divers who got motion sickness and ended up feeding fish in the water! ok, I got motion sickness too but that was because of the bumpy speedboat rides! :P
