Back from Dayang!!

We're back!! And we would like to thank all of you guys who went for this trip for making this trip a success!! :)

The committee had lots of fun, hope you guys had lots of fun too!
haha.. we heard that some of you are actually having withdrawal symptoms from diving and some of you just cannot get enough of it and are looking forward to the next trip! ;) Great! Personally, I am having withdrawal symptoms from the beautiful, laid-back island life.. Although it was not exactly all that laidback and relaxing for me..haha.. :P

This trip was the first time 3 of our committee members went as Dive Master Trainees (DMTs). It was definitely a significant and memorable trip for us. From writing up the proposal, marketing it through our blog and emails, scheduling the OW divers for their theory classes (in the midst of my own final exams), pool sessions and assisting the OW divers for their pool sessions, reminders and checklists, packing equipment and sending everyone up the coach (yes, we went by a comfortable, air-conditioned 40-seater coach cos we had enough people) to finally arriving at the Dayang resort! Hang on, the adventure did not end here! In fact, that was just another beginning!

Welcome to Dayang!

We set off from RSYC at 7pm and headed to Tuas Second link. We had our dinner and to cut the story cut, we arrived at Mersing Jetty at around 1am and hopped onto our dive boat and headed for our destination!
Some of us sat at the 'star deck' of the boat to see shooting stars (and to me, that is always one of the best thing about diving). There was an episode of 'forest fire' which was actually the moon 'rising' from the horizon, looking as orange as err.. fire. haha..
Alritey, and tada! We arrived at the resort at around 4am. We had 4 person to a room and everyone turned in to have their rest.

Early next morning at 8.30am, everyone set off for their first dive after breakfast!

Waiting faithfully for the dive boat at the Jetty.

We had 2 boats for the divers. 1 boat for the 16 OW divers and the other for the advance and leisure divers.
Despite the small little hiccups we had, O-ring kept bursting before the very first dive, everything else went pretty smoothly. :) Here are some pictures to show everyone hard at work at fixing the O-ring and preparing for our first dive.

Busy at work.
Preparing the descent buoy line.

Rigging up.

Food was delicious and during our surface interval, some of us had a game of volleyball and frisbee. I was too tired to chase after the frisbee so I was practically just walking and jogging around.. :X
The rest of us were busy filling up our log books and sat around for debriefs on the dive. :)

The guys at court, playing volleyball.
Debriefing.

We continued on with our second dive, lunch and third dive.

OW divers after their second dive at Pulau Lang.
OW divers posing under water.
Lunch time! All the hungry divers..
Mermaids?! haha.. it's our OW divers!

Of course, I did not forget our advance and leisure divers! Here are some photos of our dear friends.

Tim, Ben, Wenhui and Raynard. Where is Herbert?!?!
Ziqiang and Ezra. Our newly certified advance divers and committee members!

Diving is a sport. It is not only about the skills and people, but also about the marine lives! Here are some beautiful and colourful marine lives.

Cuttlefish.
Blue spotted ray.
One of my favourite, Christmas tree. It's like colourful mimosa in the water.
Clown fish aka Marlin and Nemo.
We look forward to seeing all of you for the next trip which will be a live-aboard. :)
Meanwhile, save up and check our blog and your email often for more details!
